Sestak Predicts a Win Over Specter
CQ Politics reports that Rep. Joe Sestak is confident he will topple incumbent Pennsylvania Democratic Sen. Arlen Specter in Tuesday’s Democratic primary.
“I’m looking forward to Sen. Specter’s support after [Tuesday],” Sestak said Sunday during an interview on CNN’s “State of the Union.”
Some recent polls indicate that Sestak has pulled significantly ahead of Specter. Sestak bases his confidence partly on Specter’s decision to switch to the Democratic Party in April 2009.
“He’ll just say whatever he wants in order to keep his job,” Sestak said, adding that Specter was ”willing to give up his vote for special interests.”
“He’s the poster child for what’s gone wrong in Washington, D.C.,” Sestak said
According to CQ Politics, Sestak dodged the question of whether he would support Specter if the incumbent comes out on top Tuesday.
