Patrick Swayze Dead at 57
Patrick Swayze has died after battling pancreatic cancer for almost two years.
Swayze’s publicist Annett Wolf says the 57-year-old “Dirty Dancing” actor died Monday with family at his side. He came forward about his illness last spring, but continued working as he underwent treatments.
Swayze’s rise to fame came with his performance in “Dirty Dancing: in 1987 and “Ghost” in 1990.
He continued to work even after being diagnosed with a particularly deadly form of pancreatic cancer in March 2008. He starred in the A&E drama series “The Beast” and was working with his wife on a memoir.
