10-Year-Old Saudi Child Bride Forced to Return to 80-Year-Old Husband
After hiding at her aunt’s home for 10 days, a 10-year-old Saudi Arabian child bride was forced by her father to return to her 80-year-old husband on Sunday.
The husband, who denies being 80 in spite of family claims, has accused the aunt of meddling in his affairs. He had been engaged to the young girl’s older sister. After the sister broke off the engagement to continue her education, her father offered the younger daughter.
According to the man, he has not broken Shariah laws. “I was allowed to have a look at her according to Shariah and found her acceptable,” he said.
Although the National Society for Human Rights has been trying to fight the problem of child marriages in the country, there is no system in place to stop the practice, which results in adverse psychological, health and social effects.
That’s disgusting. Absolutely disgusting.
This kind of stuff makes me want to puke and annilate this disgusting practice. Nice religion of peace. Is this what they tell these girls when they are raping them on their “wedding beds?” We are a religion of peace. REALLY is that PEACEFUL for this child? Having been a victim of incest myself I can assure you it is not peaceful for a child to go through this.
This is heart breaking, bring’s a tear to the eye. Can’t believe there are still people like this around. They should be locked up!
I’m sure Islam wouldn’t accept this. To be able to marry, a girl has to be at the LEAST at the age of puberty. This poor child is no where near!!
That’s sick! Please do not bring our “religion of peace” into this. Compatibility is the core of marriage according to islam.in all avenues. And the girl must attain puberty n understanding!!! Saudi culture is complex perhaps it is their culture here, that accepts such practice?(maybe her parents needed money?) I’m not sure. Either way culture should not be confused with religion And this should not be condoned.
Shucks! This is just the stuff that make it to the public view. Think of the 10s oof thousands of little girls who have become brides when they were 6 or 7.
This is way beyond sick, but it is not likely to change. And it is now almost American legal; at lest among the secretive Muslim Communities in America. Congress and the Presidents have shamed us and brought little girlschained and bound to be sex slaves on these shores.
