Salvador Cabanas Shot in the Head in Mexico City
Paraguay soccer player Salvador Cabanas was shot in the head after a fight broke out in a bar in Mexico City.
The 29-year-old footballer was at the bar with family and friends when he was attacked in the bathroom.
“He was shot in the head,” prosecutor Miguel Angel Mancera, told the news channel Televisa. “According to an initial report it was a shot from a firearm with a frontal entry point and without exit.”
“We don’t clearly know the motive behind the injury … The player is conscious but he has a heart problem which they’re trying to stabilize.”
Cabanas was rushed to the hospital and is currently in critical condition. Two people have been arrested in conjunction with the shooting.
