Angelina Jolie Will Direct New Film
Angelina Jolie, a Hollywood mega-star, is preparing to film a love story set against the background of the 1992-95 Bosnian War.
The Times of India reported that the film is focused on a couple who meet on the eve of the war and the effect the war has on their relationship.
Jolie stressed that the film would not carry any political messages and added that the cast would be drawn from the different ethnic groups of the former Yugoslavia.
“I would like to involve as many local people as possible and learn as much as I can,” Jolie said.
In a statement issued by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), Jolie said that, “The film is a love story, not a political statement.”
Reuters reported that in April, Jolie visited returnees in eastern Bosnia with her partner Brad Pitt and promised then to return.
According to The Times of India, Jolie will act in the film and direct it as well.
