How many Americans can say that they have benefited from the government’s massive “stimulus” program?

If you are one of the several of government agencies responsible for spending under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, you have enjoyed major increases in your budget that you are urged to spend.

If you are among the many newly hired government employees hired with stimulus money, you have certainly been stimulated.

USA Today reported that stimulus money has helped fuel the continued growth of the federal government, which increased by more than 25,000 employees, or 1.3%, since December 2008, according to the latest quarterly report.

During the same time period , the ranks of the nation’s unemployed increased by nearly 4 million, Labor Department statistics show. Overall, there are now about 2 million federal workers.

USA Today stated that, “Thirteen agencies that report stimulus-related administrative expenses separately on their weekly spending reports say they’ve spent $186.8 million so far on salaries and other overhead. Those agencies have reported spending $46.1 billion in stimulus funds overall.”

Even though the nation now has about a 10% unemployment rate, your friendly government agency has been busy hiring and spending $46 billion dollars to help “stimulate” us all.

Merriam-Webster define stimulus as something that rouses or incites to activity.  All it takes to prove this definition as correct is to view the photos of the recent Washington DC Tea Party.

Activity has been definitely “roused,” perhaps in a way not intended.

Absolutely stimulated to vote every one of them out of office at the next opportunity.
